CSEI Student Assistant Participates in COP30 Simulation

Empowering Future Climate Leaders

Last week, our student assistant Mathilde Roger Estrade participated in the COP30 Simulation Fellowship Programme in Egypt — a youth-led initiative organized by the The British University in Egypt, UNDP Egypt, and support from international organizations, under the auspices of several Egyptian ministries and with international academic partners.

The programme brought together 130 students from 47 countries to mirror real UN climate negotiations and explore topics such as just transition, climate finance, and global equity. Mathilde joined discussions on how science, policy, and collaboration can drive fair and effective climate action.

Mathilde Roger Estrade was appointed as the Chief Negotiator of the European Union — a great challenge and an excellent learning experience that deepened her understanding of international climate policy.
