Following CSEI’s workshop in March, we are pleased to share the resulting policy brief, From Dependency to Resilience: The Future of Energy Security.

Drawing on insights from experts across policy, industry, and academia, the brief examines how Europe can move beyond reactive crisis responses and towards a more resilient and future-proof energy system.

The policy brief highlights the need to:

  • Align energy security with long-term decarbonisation goals
  • Strengthen cross-border coordination and infrastructure planning
  • Accelerate electrification, renewable deployment, and energy efficiency
  • Integrate physical protection into energy infrastructure planning
  • Align energy policy with industrial competitiveness
  • Reduce supply chain dependencies through diversification and strategic partnerships
  • Address political fragmentation and accelerate implementation

At its core, the message is clear: energy security will not be achieved despite the transition, but through it.
