Following CSEI’s workshop in March, we are pleased to share the resulting policy brief, From Dependency to Resilience: The Future of Energy Security.
Drawing on insights from experts across policy, industry, and academia, the brief examines how Europe can move beyond reactive crisis responses and towards a more resilient and future-proof energy system.
The policy brief highlights the need to:
- Align energy security with long-term decarbonisation goals
- Strengthen cross-border coordination and infrastructure planning
- Accelerate electrification, renewable deployment, and energy efficiency
- Integrate physical protection into energy infrastructure planning
- Align energy policy with industrial competitiveness
- Reduce supply chain dependencies through diversification and strategic partnerships
- Address political fragmentation and accelerate implementation
At its core, the message is clear: energy security will not be achieved despite the transition, but through it.
